Question about dice towers, I swore they were just gimmicks until a game night in Austin

I used to roll my eyes at anyone who brought a dice tower to our group, figured it was just table clutter for people who like fancy wood stuff. Then my buddy Dave showed up with one at our Tuesday game night in Austin, and after 4 rounds of Catan where nobody argued about cocked dice or rolls landing in the box lid, I actually got it. Has anyone else flipped on something like this after seeing it in action, or is it still just a gimmick to you?
