Got the kettle stitch down pat after a month of fumbling
I've been practicing on old manuals from work (they make great test subjects). Yesterday, the motion just felt right and the stitches are even. What part of this stitch trips you up the most?

Getting that initial tension right without pulling the thread too tight was always my biggest hurdle

Ever feel like you're fighting the thread more than the fabric? That initial pull is so tricky... too loose and it's a mess, too tight and everything warps. I spent ages just practicing that first knot, and it still gets me sometimes. It's one of those small things that makes a huge difference in the end. But when you get it right, it's so satisfying...
