Got flagged as a bot by my own team's mod tool and now I don't trust any of it
Our Discord server has a bot that scores new members on how likely they are to be fake, and last Thursday it gave me a 92 out of 100. I've been in that server for 3 years, I'm a mod, and I got auto-muted for 6 hours because it thought my meme dump at 1am was 'spam-like velocity.' I messaged the guy who runs the tool and he just said the model weights changed in an update on Tuesday. So basically a real human with 3 years of history got tagged by a system that's supposed to catch fakes, and it couldn't tell the difference between me and the burner accounts we ban daily. This is exactly why I think these scoring tools are mostly theater. If it can't handle its own mods, what chance does it have with actual spammers who change behavior every time? We spent $40 a month on that thing. I turned it off for now and went back to reading profiles by hand. Has anyone else had a detection tool flag someone who was clearly legit, and did you keep using it after?
