Got a $2 cutting from a plant swap in Asheville and it brought mealybugs into my whole shelf
Went to a plant swap at a brewery in Asheville back in April. Maybe 60 people, tables everywhere, free cuttings in cups. I grabbed a little pothos cutting off a table with no label and no one watching it. Big mistake. Two weeks later I see white fuzz in the leaf joints of my jade plant. Then on my philodendron. Then on basically everything on the same shelf. Mealybugs, all of it. Took me almost two months of q tips and alcohol and I still lost a hoya I'd had since 2019. Now every single cutting that comes into my place sits in a closed jar on a separate table across the room for 30 days before it touches anything else. Anyone else get burned at a swap and do you quarantine longer than that, or am I being paranoid now?
