Found a trick to keep my band saw from wandering on pork shoulders

Last fall I ran into the same issue slicing through a batch of bone-in picnic shoulders here in Kansas City. I switched to a 12-tpi blade with a skip tooth pattern and slowed my feed rate way down, maybe 25 percent. The wandering stopped almost completely and I didn't get those ragged edges that make trimming a pain later. Someone told me that wider gullets on a lower tpi blade give the meat room to clear without binding up. Have you tried a skip tooth design versus a regular raker set?

Changed my mind about using push on connectors after a job in Greenville

My buddy Dave was the same way, swore up and down that push on connectors were junk. He was doing a big job at a school in Charlotte and ran into the same problem with screw downs killing his hands. He finally caved after his helper showed up late and he had to crank through 40 drops solo. He said after the first 10 push ons he was pissed at himself for being stubborn for years. He told me his failure rate was actually lower with the push ons than his normal screw downs on that job. Now he's the one handing bags of them to new guys on site.

I used to hate those "storytime" posts from small creators

My neighbor legit pays more for her dog's haircut than I do for my own, @claire_ramirez. Some people just REALLY love their pets I guess.

The debate about hot water on cuts keeps coming up on every job site

I usually go cold first to stop the sting then switch to warm to clean it up proper. Dab don't rub and you'll be good. Works for me anyway.

The debate about hot water on cuts keeps coming up on every job site

Oh man that's a tough one. I get nicked on the regular too and it's always a gamble which way to go. Hot water seems to help with the bleeding but cold just feels better right after, ya know?
