Shoutout to the 50th plant I've identified this year
I just logged a common blue violet in my yard and that was the big five-oh. It's wild because I started this year thinking I'd maybe learn twenty new species, but getting out there with a field guide every weekend really adds up. Anyone else get surprised by their own plant count?

That's a solid milestone, congrats. The common blue violet is a nice one to hit it on. Your post makes me wonder, did you have a system from the start or did you just wing it with the field guide? I'm trying to get better at this myself and my notes are a total mess.

Oh man, my notes were a disaster too, @viola763.

Just read an article about using color coded tabs in field guides. Makes finding notes way faster, might help sort out the mess?
