Tried leaf cuttings for 8 months with zero luck, then one thing changed it

Honestly I was about to give up on propagating my snake plant after trying water and soil methods for like 8 months straight. Then I read somewhere about using a heat mat set to 75 degrees under the pots, so I grabbed a cheap one from the reptile section at PetSmart in Austin. Within 3 weeks I had roots on all 6 cuttings that had been doing nothing for months. Has anyone else had that big of a difference from just temperature control, or was I missing something else?
