Bought the "viral" oat milk stout case and it was a total PR stunt

Saw a brewery post a dramatic apology video about a 'limited batch' oat milk stout that sold out in 20 minutes, so I paid $48 for a resold 6-pack on eBay. Turned out the whole 'scarcity' was fake, they brewed 10,000 cases and the apology was just marketing to get free press. Did anyone else get burned by this 'apology drop' tactic, or is it just me?
