Spent $2,400 on a reputation tracking tool in 2019 that flagged every angry tweet, now I just read the replies myself
Back in 2019 I was running social for a small regional food brand and we got hit by a wave of angry posts over a packaging change. My boss panicked and signed off on a $2,400 yearly contract for one of those big listening tools that sends alerts when people say mean stuff about you. It worked okay for about six weeks. Then it started flagging every tweet with the word in our brand name, including people just talking about their lunch. I'd get 200 alerts a day and maybe three were real problems. The tool quietly changed its pricing model in 2021 and we bailed. Now I just keep a tab open on twitter search and check it twice a day. Curious if anyone here still pays for one of these and thinks it's worth it.
