The time a frozen yogurt shop's apology made things way worse in Denver

So last month I watched this local frozen yogurt chain in Denver totally botch a recall situation. They had a machine issue and served some sketchy mix that made basically half a soccer team sick after a post game stop. Instead of just owning it, they posted a joke video with a sad trombone sound and a caption about 'sour batches happen.' People were not laughing, especially the parents with kids throwing up at 2am. They deleted it after like 3 hours but the screenshots were everywhere. I went from someone who might give them a second chance to never stepping foot in there again because the tone was so off. Has anyone else seen a brand take a bad situation and just pour gas on it with a badly timed joke or apology? What's the line between humor and just being insensitive after people get hurt?
