Mortar drying taught me more about patience than anything else

I rushed jobs before and saw cracks later. Now I give it the full time, and my work holds up way better.

Can't we speed it up with heat lamps instead of waiting, @seth838?

Last spring I rushed my first batch using a space heater on low and it turned out fine. The key is keeping the temp steady around 80 degrees, not blasting it with direct heat from lamps. That even warmth mimics the ideal conditions without the long wait. I've done it that way three times now with solid results.

That "full time" thing is so true.

Honestly I used to rush it too until I messed up a whole batch. @piper_murphy is right, giving it that full time makes all the difference.
