Am I the only one who fed 4 people all week on $23 at the Aldi in Toledo
My wife got sent home early twice last week so money got tight. I hit the Aldi on Monroe St with a $23 budget and came out with 2 bags of dried beans, a 10 lb bag of rice, frozen spinach, eggs, and a pack of chicken thighs on markdown. We ate black bean bowls, fried rice, and a big pot of chicken and rice soup that lasted 3 days. Anyone got a cheap meal they lean on when the paycheck runs short? Need ideas for next time.
Watched my buddy do almost the same thing at the Aldi over on Central. He grabbed a bag of potatoes, a couple onions, and a big thing of kielbasa and made a huge pot of soup with some chicken broth. Ate on it for like four days straight, said it got better every time he reheated it. Potatoes and sausage go way further than people give them credit for.
