Batch cooking beans vs. buying canned, which is actually cheaper for a single person?

I started cooking dried black beans from the 2 pound bag at WinCo last month and my grocery bill dropped about $11 a week, but I spend an extra hour every Sunday soaking and simmering them... Canned beans are like 88 cents a can on sale and there's zero cleanup, so now I'm wondering if my time is actually worth it or if I'm just being stubborn about the math. Has anyone else done the real cost breakdown on this for a household of one?
