Spent $38 on meal kit that went straight to the trash

Last month I tried one of those meal delivery boxes because a coupon made it look like a steal. The produce was already limp, the chicken smelled off, and the portions were tiny for what I paid. I could have gotten 3 solid dinners from my local Aldi for that same $38. Has anyone else been burned by these promo deals, or do some actually work out for you?
