Why does nobody bring up that rice and beans costs 60 cents a serving?
I found a USDA cost breakdown from 2023 that put a rice and bean dinner at under a dollar a plate, which blew my mind since I grew up thinking that meal meant we were broke. My mom made it in our Houston kitchen twice a week and I complained every time, so what cheap dinner did your family actually look forward to?
