Why is everyone treating lentils like they're a punishment?
Last week my neighbor handed me a bag of lentils with this pity look like I was about to eat cardboard, but I made a smoky taco filling with them for about $4 and fed four people. They're cheap, filling, and soak up spices better than ground beef in my opinion, so why do folks act like it's some sad diet food? Has anyone else hit that wall where a budget staple gets a bad rap for no real reason?
