TIL that flying into a smaller airport 60 miles away saved me $210 on a trip to Denver last month
I grabbed a $48 ticket into Colorado Springs instead of a $258 one into DIA, rode a $12 bus to the city, and got there 20 minutes before my buddy who flew direct, so now I want to know if anyone else checks the secondary airports first or just eats the price for the convenience.
That $48 ticket into Colorado Springs is the move, I do this all the time now. Flew into Burbank instead of LAX last spring and saved almost $150 plus the little airport was way less of a mess. The bus ride in was easy and I honestly got to my hotel faster than my cousin who flew direct.
