I tried daily rapid logging and weekly spreads, and one of them honestly saved my whole setup
For about 6 months I was doing these big pretty weekly spreads with boxes for every day, and I kept abandoning them by Wednesday. Last week I switched to just rapid logging everything on plain dot grid pages with a simple monthly log up front, and I filled 14 pages in 5 days without missing a single task. I think the fancy spreads were making me afraid to mess them up, so I wasn't actually using the journal for real stuff. Has anyone else ditched weekly layouts for straight rapid logging, or do you keep some kind of weekly spread for planning ahead?
Two years ago I would've told you the weekly spread was the whole point and anyone skipping it was just being lazy. Then I watched my own tracker sit empty for three weeks straight while I kept redrawing boxes I never touched. Last month I finally gave up and went full rapid log with just a monthly list up top, and I've gone through 22 pages since, which is more than I did all spring. The pretty pages were making me treat the journal like a project instead of a tool. Now I just dump stuff down as it happens and deal with it that day.
