Spent $45 on a "minimalist" journal and the binding split in 2 weeks

I saw this fancy leather bullet journal all over Instagram and figured it would be my forever book... paid $45 for it and everything. The paper was nice at first, really smooth and no ghosting. But after like 2 weeks of normal use the spine just cracked and pages started falling out. I was only like halfway through the thing and now I can't even open it flat without chunks of paper coming loose. Honestly my $8 dotted notebook from Target has held up way better over the last 6 months. Has anyone else fallen for one of those overpriced journals that just fall apart?

Yo, wait - did you get the one with that "vegan leather" cover that looks all soft? My buddy Jake got the exact same thing, spent like $50 on it, and his fell apart on day 12. He was so mad because he had this whole color-coded habit tracker in it and the pages just started sliding out like a cheap magazine lol. The worst part was he emailed the company and they said it was "normal wear and tear" and offered him a 10% discount coupon. He still uses my old Moleskine I gave him and that thing is beat to hell but still holding together.

Did you buy it with a credit card? Call them, they'll fight the chargeback for you.

My sister got that exact same one for Christmas last year and by day 8 the spine was completely busted. She had this whole bullet journal thing going with washi tape and stickers and the cover literally peeled off like a sunburn. She emailed them too and got the same "normal wear" garbage so she just threw it in the trash and bought a $6 Walmart one that's still going strong 4 months later. I swear these companies bank on people giving up after the first email.
