My buddy runs a taco truck and uses a whiteboard on the wall. He caught his employee skimming $50 a week just by seeing the numbers not match up.

catching him by seeing numbers not match up" is exactly how I found out too lol. I had a small coffee stand and just kept a simple notebook, noticed the totals were off by like $20 a week. Confronted the girl and she admitted it right away cause the proof was right there. Low tech but it works honestly.
