Unpopular opinion: I think 'quiet vacationing' is a weird way to frame a basic problem
I tried to actually do it for a week, but my boss called me out for being offline during a scheduled meeting. It just seems like a buzzword that makes a lack of clear work boundaries sound trendy. Has anyone else had this backfire?

Totally agree with you. It's just a new name for an old trick that never really works. Calling it quiet vacationing makes it sound like a smart hack, but it's really just hiding that you're taking time off. Bosses always notice when you're not around for key stuff. The whole thing feels like a way to blame workers for bad company culture.

Yeah, my buddy tried that last month. He thought he was being slick, but his boss pinged him during a surprise meeting and it was super awkward. @averywilliams is right, it just puts the blame on us.
