Which side are you on: "demure" or "lowkey"? I used to just call things "chill" now I hear both constantly.

I swear I never heard "demure" used unironically until like 6 months ago. Now people are calling everything from outfits to sandwiches "demure." Meanwhile "lowkey" has been around forever but suddenly it's in every caption and comment. I'm a designer so I notice language patterns, but this one feels different. People either love the old standby or think it's played out. Has anyone else noticed this split online? Which one do you actually use in real life?

I bought one of those Bluetooth water bottles that tracks your intake and glows to remind you to drink. It synced to my phone and everything for like a week. Debate: Is 'let them cook' already dead or still alive online?

I was in a Discord voice chat last night with some friends playing Valorant, and one guy kept yelling 'let him cook' every time someone made a risky play. But then another person said that phrase is already cringe and played out from like 2022. Made me wonder - has that term hit its expiration date, or is it still useful in the right context? I see it on Twitter a lot too but mostly from meme accounts now. What do you all think - is 'let them cook' still got life or should we retire it?

Had 5 years of dead grass patches until a lawn service guy told me the fix

My roommate told me I was gaslighting her because I said she left the milk out, and I realized people just throw that word at any disagreement. I heard a cashier at Target say her manager gaslit her over a schedule change, made me wonder when we lost the real meaning.
