Found a 30 second trick for tracing buried drops under siding, saved me a climb
Got called out to a two story in Mesa where the old drop ran behind the vinyl siding and the customer wanted it moved to the other side of the garage. I used to just drill a new hole and fish it blind, which means climbing the ladder twice and guessing. This time I taped a strong magnet to the end of my fish tape and ran a second magnet along the outside of the siding until it stuck, took me about 30 seconds to find the exact path. Then I drilled right at the low point so the new hole would drain and pulled it through clean on the first try. Customer said the last guy charged her for two hours and left a hole in the wrong spot. Any of you got a better trick for when the siding is aluminum and the magnet won't grab?
