Shoutout to the trainer in Tulsa who showed me why my staples kept crushing RG6
Three weeks ago I was running a new drop in a Tulsa attic and kept nicking the center conductor with the staple gun, so an older installer named Ray showed me to squeeze halfway, rotate the cable 90 degrees, and finish. Sounds dumb but I haven't had a single call back on that house. Anyone else got a trick like that for snugging cable without wrecking it?
Man the center conductor nicking is the worst, I've done that more times than I want to admit and you don't even know it happened until the signal tests bad. Half squeeze then rotate is smart, I'm gonna try that on my next attic run. I usually just loosen the spring on my gun a bit and keep the cable flat against a stud so it can't roll on me. Glad Ray hooked you up, those old heads know all the little moves.
