Update: I finally tried a canvas tent after 12 years of nylon, and I get it now
A buddy loaned me his 10 oz canvas wall tent for a weekend at Grand Teton last month, and I honestly packed it expecting to hate every minute. It weighed 38 pounds and soaked up rain like a sponge on day one, so I figured I was right. But by night two the thing stopped all the wind noise, stayed warm down to 29 degrees, and never once had condensation dripping on my bag. The weight is brutal on solo trips, so I am still keeping nylon for solo stuff. Anyone else run canvas for car camping and have a trick for drying it out before you roll it up?
