Watched a YouTuber from Boise cry on stream after 40 people showed up to his comeback and now I feel weird about it

So this guy got canceled about 8 months ago for some dumb tweet, and he tried to come back with a live apology stream last Thursday. Only like 40 people showed up out of his old 200k subs, and he just sat there reading the chat and got teary when someone typed "we missed you." I can't tell if that's a real comeback or just the sad part before the next thing. Has anyone seen a creator actually bounce back from that kind of drop, or is this just how it goes now?
