A $4k raise versus a title bump is a pretty small gap in the grand scheme, and two years of being mad seems like a lot of rent to pay for your uncle's bad advice. People give bad career advice all the time, including family, and the real issue is you took it instead of trusting your own gut. At some point you have to let it go or it just becomes a story you tell instead of a lesson you learned.
