A client's two-word note rewired how I run trim work

I was finishing baseboards in a remodel off Route 9 in Jersey and the homeowner left a sticky note that just said 'caulk less'. Took me a minute, but they were right, I was hiding sloppy joints instead of fixing the cuts. Now I spend extra time on miters and only use caulk for gaps under 1/8 inch. Anyone else get a critique that sounded harsh but made their work cleaner?

Did the sticky note come with a business card for their therapist, or were they just done watching you caulk your way to Friday?
