A trim guy in Portland told me my mitered corners were "close enough" and I can't stop thinking about it
Last week I was wrapping up a cabinet install on a job in Portland and the trim guy walked by, ran his finger along one of my mitered corners, and said "close enough, right?" He wasn't being mean about it. He just moved on and kept working, but it stuck with me all day. I went back after he left and re-cut two of those corners, and yeah, they were off by maybe a 32nd, but they bugged me once he pointed it out. I think what got to me is that I had started letting small stuff slide on this job because the homeowner wasn't checking that close. Do you all catch stuff like that on your own, or does it take someone else pointing it out to snap you back?
