PSA: My miter saw blade exploded on a job site Tuesday
I was cutting some pressure-treated 2x6s for a deck in Alexandria and halfway through a cut the blade just let go. A tooth flew off and lodged itself right in the dust bag (thank God not in me). I've been using that same Diablo blade for maybe 8 months and never thought twice about it. Anyone else ever have a blade just go nuclear on them out of nowhere?

Thank God not in me" - you say that now, but wait until you find that tooth weeks later in your boot when you're putting it on. Eight months on a Diablo sounds about right for pressure treated lumber though, those things scream "I'm tired" way before they actually let go. I had a cheap Freud blade decide to become confetti mid-cut on a treated 4x4 and learned that lesson the hard way. Check the arbor hole for cracks next time before you mount a new one, that's usually where the trouble starts.

ugh i found a whole screw once in my boot like 3 months after i lost it, still have no idea how it got there. treated lumber is the worst for eating blades though, my cheapo craftsman blade started throwing sparks after a few cuts lol.

Dude I had almost the exact same thing happen with a DeWalt blade on some old pressure treated deck boards. Tooth flew off and I didnt think anything of it until I stepped on something sharp in the garage like a month later, right through the sole of my sneaker. @grace_bailey is totally right about treated lumber just murdering blades, I swear the chemicals make them brittle after a few cuts. Now I check the arbor hole every time before I swap blades too, caught a hairline crack on a Diablo once that would have snapped for sure.
