Update: the cardboard template trick saved my stair stringer cuts on that tight Elm Street job
Kept messing up stringer notches on a 1920s house in Dayton last week where nothing was square, so I cut a cardboard template of the actual stair profile first and every notch landed right on the first try, has anyone else done this on old remodel jobs or do you just shim the whole thing?
