Swore "bet" was done for after my nephew's 13th birthday party, then my barber in Fresno proved me wrong
I told my crew two months ago that saying "bet" made you sound like a kid trying too hard, mostly because my nephew and six of his friends said it about 40 times at his party. Then last Thursday my barber Ray, who is 58 and has never heard of TikTok, said "bet" while we were talking about a fishing trip and it sounded totally normal. Is it just me or did that word sneak into grown-up talk without anyone noticing, and if so what's the cutoff age where it starts sounding weird?
