Spent $1800 on a home backup generator after the ice storm, and I got called a prepper by my neighbor
Two sides here. My side: that money felt dumb until we lost power for 4 days in February and my pipes did NOT burst. His side: he says I panic bought it and it just sits there taking up garage space 360 days a year. I live in Springfield and the last outage cost my buddy $6k in water damage, so I feel pretty good about it. Where do you all land, is a generator worth it or did I just buy an expensive lawn ornament?
