Tried to replace a leaky faucet in my bathroom, but it became a 6 hour nightmare

Last Saturday I thought swapping out an old Moen faucet would take maybe an hour tops. Turned out the supply line nuts were corroded so bad I had to cut them off with a hacksaw, then the new one didn't even fit the existing holes without extra drilling. Took me 6 hours total and three trips to Ace Hardware in Kent before it was done. Anybody else ever have a simple home fix turn into an all day project?

Three trips to Ace Hardware, I've been there way too many times myself. In my experience, any project that starts with "this should be quick" is basically asking the universe to prove you wrong. I've noticed it's like some kind of law of home maintenance - the simpler the job looks on YouTube, the more likely your specific pipes were installed by a guy with a grudge and no plumber's putty. Your mileage may vary, but I swear every supply line I've touched since 2005 has been fused on with corrosion that laughs at standard wrenches.

Honestly, three trips to Ace Hardware? That's brutal, man. Ngl, the part about the supply line nuts being corroded so bad you had to hacksaw them off is giving me flashbacks to my own bathroom sink from hell. I swear my old pipes were welded on by a madman using rust for glue. Tbh, that moment when you realize a crescent wrench just spins uselessly is the worst feeling ever.
