My hollandaise kept splitting until I checked the blender speed

Went through a whole catering event in Seattle with sauce that broke every 15 minutes. Took me three days and about 40 dollars in wasted butter to realize my immersion blender was on a lower setting than I thought. The power drop only happened when it warmed up after a few minutes of use. Anyone else had a tool fail silently like that on a busy night?
