Vent: My knife drawer organization epiphany

I always fumbled for the correct knife during rush orders. Now with a labeled slot for each, my prep time dropped. The calm in my station is real.

People get way too deep about basic kitchen stuff. Labeling knives seems like overkill when you could just remember what they look like. Calling it life-changing is a bit much.

Yeah, "the calm in my station is real" is exactly it. Honestly I had the same lightbulb moment a few months back. I got a magnetic strip and just putting each knife back in its own spot changed everything. Before that it was just a jumble in a drawer and I wasted so much time. Ngl the stress drop was huge, not just the time saved. It feels dumb that something so simple makes that big a difference.

The stress drop part is so real... my buddy who works at a diner finally labeled his knife drawer last month. He said before that, he was always digging for the serrated knife during the breakfast rush... took him extra minutes every time. Now he just grabs it from its spot and says it's like his brain can relax for a second. He laughed about how such a small change made the whole morning smoother.
