An inspector I ran into at a job in Columbus last month watched me work for 5 minutes. He said 'you are scrubbing those walls like you are trying to erase them, but all you are doing is wearing out your rods and making more dust'. At first I was annoyed but then I realized he was right. I was using way too much pressure and going over the same spots 3 or 4 times. I backed off, slowed down, and used a lighter touch. My shoulder stopped hurting after a week and I am finishing jobs faster. Has anyone else had to unlearn a bad habit because some random guy pointed it out?

I used to grab those big bags of avocados from Costco every week thinking I was saving money. I was doing a bedroom in a 1920s house last month. The room had a weird bump-out near the closet. I usually use a knee kicker for tight spots, but the old guy I was working with kept saying I should rent a power stretcher for that whole job. I went with the knee kicker cause it was what I had. I finally admit that $200 raised garden bed kit was a rip off

Last spring I dropped $200 on one of those modular raised bed kits from a big box store. Figured it would be easier than building my own. After 8 months the boards are already warping and the corners are pulling apart. Meanwhile my neighbor built his own with untreated pine for like $40. He sealed it himself and it's holding up way better than mine. Anyone else have luck with a specific wood sealer or should I just start over next spring?

The manual says to clean them every 6 months but in a dusty environment like a mall food court area it needs to be more like every 6 weeks. Has anyone else found a better way to keep those lenses clean between visits?
