My hand mirror beat a fancy camera on a tough job

I know everyone pushes for those high tech inspection cameras, but I think they are not needed for simple checks. Most sweeps tell you to buy the best gear to see inside, but I stick with a basic mirror and a strong light. Last Tuesday, I had a call for a clogged chimney in a really old house. The customer had a shiny new camera, but it would not power up at all. I just used my mirror to look up the flue and spotted a big nest right away. I got it out in about ten minutes with just my brush and rod. The owner was so happy with the fast fix and saved money too. So, I am firm on using simple tools for most everyday sweeps. It might not be popular, but it works for me and my clients.

Yeah it's like that everywhere now. We get told we need the fancy new thing, but half the time the old simple way just works better and doesn't break.

But sometimes that "old simple way" was actually broken too.

Remember my friend switched their whole team to some new project app last month. Total mess, constant crashes. They went back to shared spreadsheets and chat, works perfect now. Exactly what @noah_murray is talking about.
