My old brush head snapped off mid-sweep yesterday
I was working a job on Maple Street and about halfway up the flue my brush head just broke clean off the rod. The wire loop bent out of shape and I had to fish it out with a magnet on a string. Took me an extra 45 minutes to finish up. Has anyone else had a brush fail like that on them?

Ugh that's brutal man. I feel for you, seriously. Nothing worse than being halfway up the stack and your gear gives out on you, turning a straightforward job into a whole ordeal. I've had a cable snap on me before, not the brush head itself, but same kinda panic when you're stuck up there and suddenly your tool's useless. Did that magnet trick work pretty well for getting the head out, or did you have to climb back down and rig something else?

nah i gotta disagree here. those wire loop brushes are built tough, i've had the same one for like 6 years and it's still going. you probably just got a bum brush or you were cranking on it too hard. i've been up some nasty tight flues and never snapped one, just bent the loop a little. if you're gonna blame the brush, at least admit you might've been hammering it in there like you're trying to break through the wall.
