Wood stove inserts are not fireplaces, stop treating them like one
I pulled 3 inserts this month in Pittsburgh where the homeowner was burning full size logs with the door cracked open and the baffle plate was warped to hell. The manual on every unit Ive seen says to use shorter splits and keep the door shut after startup, but nobody reads it. How do you get customers to follow the burn instructions without sounding like a nag?
