Wait, two days EARLY? That part is what gets me. Every transporter story I have ever heard ends with the car showing up late and somebody blaming weather in Kansas. Your buddy got a Sunday phone call and a free swap to a better carrier, which sounds like a unicorn situation. Mine sat at the depot for nine days before the second truck even got assigned, so clearly I picked the wrong guy in Tucson.

My best sales day ever started with a flat tire and a guy paying me in ones

Back in 2019 I blew a radiator hose on I-70 near Vandalia and sat in a Speedway lot for three hours. While I was waiting I started texting pics of my scrap copper pile to a guy I'd been putting off for weeks. He showed up in a work van before the tow even got there and handed me $800 cash. Turns out he was heading to a job ten minutes away and the delay was the only reason he could swing by. Best thing I did was keep my phone busy instead of just fuming at the truck. Sometimes the dead time is the whole point.
