The day my code deleted my boss's calendar
Last Tuesday I was learning Python and messed up a loop. Accidentally ran a script that wiped out my boss's entire Outlook calendar for 2024. He had 47 meetings on there including one with our CEO. He stared at me for 10 seconds without blinking. Anyone else ever break something way bigger than you meant to?

Hmm, I mean yeah that sucks but honestly your boss probably deserved it for having 47 meetings in the first place. Nobody needs that many meetings, that's just bad management.

Nobody needs that many meetings" - that's true, but it got me thinking. We've built this whole culture around being busy for the sake of being busy. Like we all just nod along to 47 meetings a year because saying no feels harder than just showing up. Its the same pattern I see everywhere now, people filling their lives with activities they don't really need just to feel important or productive. Maybe your script was doing him a favor in the long run, just with lousy timing.
