A guy at my shop in Dallas called Watchmen 'boring homework' and I almost walked out
He said it while we were bagging boards at the shop on Tuesday, and two other guys nodded along like it was no big deal. I get that slow comics aren't for everyone, but calling the pirate story and the news clippings 'filler' tells me he reads for action beats only. Is there a polite way to tell a grown man he's reading comics wrong, or do I just let it go?
Two guys at my shop in Fort Worth said the same thing about Maus last year and I just nodded like I agreed because I am a coward. The polite move is to ask what he liked before Watchmen came out and watch him list nothing but Wolverine books. Let it go, because telling a grown man his taste is wrong has never once worked on anyone over the age of twelve.
