Serious question, did anyone else used to think comic book purists were the worst?

I always got annoyed with fans who ONLY cared about the original comics and dismissed every adaptation. But then I met this guy at a shop who explained his deep connection to the PRINT stories, and it clicked. Seeing his passion made me realize that love for the source material is what KEEPS the whole thing alive. Now I respect that view way more, even if I still enjoy the movies. It totally shifted how I see different kinds of fans.

Wait, you found a guy at an actual physical comic shop? Those places are still open? I figured everyone just downloaded stuff now. That part is wild to me. His whole world is based on paper pages while the rest of us are scrolling on screens. It's crazy that the original prints are still someone's whole thing.

That deep connection to print can become a wall that keeps new people out. When fans act like the only real way to love something is their way, it makes the whole hobby feel closed off. Digital comics and movies bring these stories to way more people than old paper issues ever could, and that growth matters more.

Totally, holding old comics changed my mind like @nathan_jenkins5 said.
