Pro tip: check what book your club actually picked before you prep the whole discussion

Been there. Showed up ready to talk about a mystery novel and turns out everyone read a memoir instead. What saved me was asking the person next to me to pass their copy during a bathroom break, then I skimmed the first chapter and grabbed two quotes that sounded deep. Nobody caught on the whole night. Now I screenshot the vote results and text them to myself the second the meeting ends.

My FLGS owner warned me about buying used games sight unseen and now I'm out $65

How does he handle the awkward part when something actually is missing? Because that is the part that stops me from doing it. Like, do you message the seller and say hey you shorted me nine iron cubes, and then what, they just ghost you? I get that counting saves you from a bad buy, but once the money is gone and the box is at your house, is a PayPal claim really worth the hassle over a few missing pieces? Seems like the real move is counting before you pay, not after.

Hostel kitchen in Lisbon taught me a new packing rule

Man, I gotta disagree. Cooking a full meal with a spork and a mug sounds cool in a hostel but that stuff just takes up space in your bag the other 51 weeks a year. I'd rather just eat street food and save the room for actual clothes.
