Caught a comment war on a beach photo last week: should people tag friends in weight loss pics or not?
Last week on a Facebook post of a woman celebrating 50 lbs lost at a Florida beach, a commenter tagged her friend and said "your turn." That one tag blew up to 340 replies in two days. One side argued tagging is just motivation and tough love, the other said it's public shaming and nobody asked. The tagged woman jumped in and said she cried for an hour. I've been reading comment sections for fun for a while, and this was the messiest one I've seen since a gender reveal post in 2019. So where do you draw the line: is tagging a friend in a fitness win a push or a punch? And has anyone seen a tag like this actually end well?
Why would you tag someone in a weight loss pic unless they asked you to be their hype man? I've had friends do the "your turn" tag on me and it just made me want to hide, so now I only tag people who literally ask for it.
