I saw a comment thread about a missing sock that turned into a full blown conspiracy theory
It started with a normal post about laundry, but one person said their sock vanished in 2019 and linked it to a local news story about a power outage. Then someone else claimed it was a government fabric softener test, and a third person posted a blurry picture of a 'sock shaped drone'. I spent like an hour just reading the replies. Has anyone else found a totally normal post that went off the rails this fast?

Oh my god, yes. Last week I saw a post about a weird noise from a fridge. By comment 30, people were convinced it was a secret code from aliens. Someone even posted a link to a declassified CIA document about kitchen appliances.

Seriously, it's a sock. People need to go touch grass. The internet makes everyone lose their damn minds over nothing.
