I swore comments sections were all garbage, until one stranger on a Kansas City news post fixed my whole week
Last Tuesday I was sitting in my car outside a Hy-Vee in Kansas City, scrolling the comments under a local news post about a bad wreck on I-35. I usually skip comment sections because they turn into name calling within five replies. But this time a woman named Deb had posted a long reply to some guy who was mad about traffic, and she just calmly explained the detour he could take and even gave the exit number. Then someone else asked if the road was open yet, and three different people answered with real info. I sat there for 20 minutes reading instead of driving off. The part that got me was a guy who posted a photo of his dog in the backseat with a comment about how the dog hates traffic more than he does, and like 40 people replied with photos of their own dogs. I always assumed comment sections were a lost cause, but this one felt like neighbors talking over a fence. So now I want to know, are there certain pages or local groups where the comments are actually decent, or did I just get lucky that one night?
