People keep praising that 'read the room' reply guy but he just kills every thread
Last week on a local news post about a bus route change in Columbus, some guy named Dave kept replying to every single comment with 'Read the room, nobody cares.' He got 200 likes and people called him a legend, but the thread died in an hour. Half the funny stuff people share here starts as dumb back and forth, and guys like Dave are why half those posts never happen. Am I wrong for thinking the 'read the room' crowd does more damage to comment sections than the trolls do?
This is the same thing that happens at work meetings when someone shuts down every idea before it even gets going. They think they're being helpful by keeping things on track but really they just make everyone stop talking. Funny stuff needs room to breathe, and killing that space is worse than a few bad jokes.
