An old diver in Louisiana told me my tie-off points were 'polite' and he was right
He said I was placing them where they looked neat instead of where the current hits, which meant my umbilical kept sawing against a piling on every swing. Started marking them with a grease pencil at chest height where the flow actually breaks, been snag free for 4 months now. Anybody else get called out on something like that and find out it was costing them time on every single dive?

Calling them "polite" is generous, I'd say sloppy, but neat-looking sloppy.
